Yes you should remove them. The bolts are used to hold the torque converter to the flex plate (which is bolted to the crankshaft).
Are you draining the oil out of the gearbox first, or just using a dummy tailshaft yoke?

would get rather messy leaving those bolts in and taking the box out full of oil....

done that, it's also a b**ch when you leave the torque converter on the flex plate when re-mounting the gearbox. pain in the a** to line up

you guys mean trans fluid? thats gone. If you mean cooling oil, dont know squat about that. Have to read up on it. thnx again |

Also is better if you remove the gearbox with the torque convertor still in the gearbox to save on damaging the front seal in the gearbox
