Hey guys,
Basically i'm installing a transmission cooler into my BA because of the obvious risk (although with 235000kms youd think mine probably would have failed already and been fixed - but better safe than sorry!). But the thing is I've never installed a cooler before. The main concern is - am I going to lose a lot of fluid? I figure some, but is the factory in-radiator one going to be full so that when I unplug the pipes to install the new one, its going to dump a heap of fluid and therefore mean I need to top up the fluid? I bought some new fluid anyway just incase but I'd been keen to know what to expect! The rest though - I don't see too much trouble obviously! Cheers

you will loose a small amount of fluid but not much maybe half a litre but you need to get the car on stands or a hoist but have it slightly raised on the right hnd side (the side the filler plug is next to the rear of he cat 16mm single hex socket or six point) the reason for slightly raising the rhs is so to be sure it has enough fluid fill it untill oil comes out the filler plug hole and screw plug back in and tension not to tight it has an oring sealing it

when u go to undo the trans lines from the radiator make sure u hold the nut on the actual radiator tight, and use a spanner on the pipe nut.
if u try and undo the trans line without useing a spanner on the nut on the radiator it will crack the plastic tank and u will need another radiator |

Cheers guys. Yeah I ended up doing it anyway about a day after my original post. So its all good now!
