Morning all,

Have a question for you all.
My Fairlane is on LPG. It's an after market system which doesnt talk to the standard fuel guage. WHich means the trip computer is *constantly* flipping out, beeping at me complaining that I'm about to run out of fuel.
And it's driving me batty.
Now as far as I am aware, there is no easy way to get the two (LPG and Trip computer) to talk to each other, so... is it possible to pull the tip computer out of the dash and just drop in a standard Falcon clock?

Cheers,
Lurch

I would say yes. Should go straight in. You may need to disconnect the data line from the cluster, though I'm not 100% sure if it's necessary to do that.
Have a look at the tech doc. http://www.fordmods.com/documents.php?d=32 is should point you in the right direction.

The standard falcon clock wiring is the same except for the trip computer theres 2 or 3 wires coming from the dash cluster, I would try just pluging the stoko clock in from a gli and it should work?, have a read of the above tech doco anyway

You could always put a small relay in and tell the Trip computer a "false" fuel reading.... or the lpg tank one.
My EB used the factory gauge for the LPG System as well, so the trip computer telling me I was low actually meant that

if you keep over a quarter of a tank of petrol, that should stop it beeping. it's also important as it keeps the fuel pump submerged so it won't die.

All went fine.
Only tip is you have to run an 'ignition' positive up to Pin 2 on the plug

so did you remove the wiring that wasnt needed and keep the trip computer, or plug in the povo clock and leave the wiring, or povo clock and take the wiring out?

Just adapted the Trip Computer plug to work. Removed the wires that weren't required.
