If anyone has a set of 4499's sitting in a shed doing nothing, please PM me as I can find a lovely new home for them in my Fairmont. Cheers

Just be patient and something will eventually pop up.

I live in the Western Suburbs and work in Altona, so close to you (assuming you're in La-verton). If I am free and you need a hand I am happy to help you out.

thanks mate, i'm happy today about it too, as i've gone out and paid for some new tyres (second hand) lmao. atleast theres grip now, plus i've also gone and paid for my overloading fine.

no my money can go straight towards my much needed brake replacement, a wheel alignment and hopefully a tint if the money flow is good enough.

well to anyone that has stumbled upon this. well.. dead thread, LOL.
i've actually managed to pull some money together to purchase a couple things for my baby.
first off, i went and bought some RDA front discs and Bendix pads to replace my warped-to-hell discs.
this will make my life soo much better, although it'll be weird driving a car that doesn't jerk it's way to a set of traffic lights. lmao.
secondly, i purchased a amp power wire distribution block to be able to fit a second amp to power some new splits i'm pickin up off a mate second hand, less than 4months old cos he's already decided to upgrade the sound system of his leb-spec VR commodore.
i'll throw up some pics of mounting as well as a pic of my hopeless attempt at mounting my other huge amp once i get em done, this weekend hopefully.
but yeah, other than that, i managed to wire up a "shift kit" ($17.00 <3 Jaycar) fully sick wheel chirps on second on a good day, other than that, a nice way to farewell my auto in the hopes of a future t5 kit.
thanks & feel free to comment.

just another thing to add for those people that hate the 4x4 look, in the process of the mods that i'm slowly doing, I am on the hunt for a fairmont xr body kit, all pieces, and will be appreciative of anyone that can help me out, color isn't a big worry (price might be though!), as long as condition is good.
from that point on I will be able to decide on shock/spring setup, that factor as well as sub and gas tank.

$216 for DBA abs front rotors, and Bendix pads, easy as job too.
let me know if you ever decided to do it, i'll ease the pain of paying to get them done, lol.
been killing to put this second amp in, weathers too crap, hows your setup going?

Ahhh awesome. (Y)
Yeah I haven't done much lately apart from the wheels. I've been lazy!
Put in some new headlight globes though because one of mine blew.
They were meant to be kind of blue.
They aren't.

Still gotta get my driving lights though :P

that's the amp positioning under the seat, holds well, just a bit of velcro.

Image
speaker mounted in door with crossover in place, crossover will stay there, it's small, neat and not in the way. tweeters are positioned on the mirror triangle.
happy with the job, dreading taking the door trims off next, lmao. but I think I might soon and wire up some plugs for ease of removal.

o and ignore the glue, car yards terrible effort of replacing a broken speaker grill, chopped most of it away anyway as it was rubbing onto the speaker rubber.

I hope you're not going to run the speakers like that. The rubber surrounds will rub on the door trim. Not good.
What size speakers are they?

nah, as said above, i chopped most of the doorcard away so none of it is protruding onto the speaker. the speakers a six inch, but needed a spacer.

Weak, my 6" speaker is held in place by one screw and the door trimp :P

By the way, I have an EF XR body kit if you're interested. Front and rear skirts and door moulds are genuine, side skirt is fibreglass (that is being fixed). PM me if you're interested.
