Yeah thats something I'm going to have to eventually worry about :p
Right now my aircon doesn't work because of the hack job the previous owner did of taking it out, which means I'll need to get a complete system to install it again -_-

well ive been qouted $250..
thats new rubber o rings for the pump and tx valve fittings
new reciever dryer (for new type r134 gas) oil+regas..

if it had already been converted to the new r134 type gas it would have only cost $100 for the gas..
but because all the lines have been undone and the o rings are 19 years old its best to replace them .

well i had a set back today the high pressure power steering hose started to leak bad!

im not sure if ef power steering runs higher pressure than ea?
or its just that the hose decided to go because it was old?
i know benj had the same problem with his power steering hose after his engine conversion..

anyway the new hose cost $65 from peps..
once again its all good.. for now lol...

is it the higher pressure from the bigger pulley?

that is something I wasn't expecting to have to buy, have to put it on the list of things to get when I'm stripping bits of the next EL.

actually its the oposite.. the larger pulley turns slower!

but its definatly something to look at ..
if your driving around and the hose bursts your in trouble.
there now is only one belt! (thats one down side to the serpentine belt lol).
so no power steering fluid mean the power steering pump will die/sieze fast.
and if you were to keep driving the belt would soon fry and then no water pump or alternator will stop you in your tracks..

like i said before it could have just been a coincidence?
but im just glad it happened before our cruise this afternoon..lol

of course... if the flywheel pully was bigger it'd make that one spin faster, but if that one is smaller it would be faster.. hadn't had much sleep at that time.. :-)

perhaps it does have a higher output per revolution because it spins slower?

here are a few pics of the aircon lines..

i had to bend the metal pipe on the line at the pump a bit to clear the airbox.. but be carefull not to bend it to much as you will end up with a kink in the pipe..
i used a plank of wood and wedged it in between the metal pipe and the block then used another length of wood and wedged it between the chasis rail and the outside of the pipe and leavered it bit by bit trying not to kink the pipe.,.

how did you go with those 2 little tabs on the aircon unit? my NC had them on the top where as the EL has them on the bottom.

see the 2 little circled bits

mine has them on the bottom like your one ..
the bottom of the square block on the aircon line seats against those lugs and the bolt goes through the centre..
those lugs are there to hold the pipe block in position so the block dont turn when you so the bolt up and keeps the hose ports lined up.
it still fits the same just the lugs are on the bottom insted of the top.

also i forgot to mention that you need to remove the airbox to fit the line so you can bend it into position..
then you put the airbox back in.
