My old man today told me i was stupid to waste money on new wheels and said if i hated the factory el fairmont rims so much he would be prepared to do a straight swap for a set of good condition turbo blades of his EBII fairmont sedan. Thay r a nice looking wheel any seen ef&EL with these rims? any opinions would be great.
here r some pics of the two cars? |

personally, i think the car would look dated - i've seen a few over here with those rims on EF/EL's, and they haven't looked too crash hot!

Sorry, that looks PUKE!!
I wouldnt backdate my car. Save the $$$ and get a nice set of wheels to set the car off. If it was a Commodore I wouldnt care, lol

they look better than the wheels he has on the fairmont at the moment, but they don't suit it at all.
get a nice set of 15's, they're selling quite cheap these days.

a mechanic once told me that the turboblade alloys wont fit on any ef-el because the studs are too long or sumthing.
anybody know anymore about this?? |

Don't put them on....stick with the EL Fairmont rims. Should be able to sell them for $200 - $300 so even if you have to put in the extra $400 - $500 to upgrade to EL XR 16inch which will set you back $700 - $800, much more worth your time and money I reckon

Couldn't possibly look worse than the standard EF Fairmont wheels though. ED 5 spoke wheels are the ONLY wheels that look horn on EF/EL shape bodys. The unpolished ones (eg not the EB2 XR6 polished 5 spoke wheels) |

My next door neighbour has a heritage green EF falcon with NA fairlane rims on it, pretty similar to those turbo blades and it looks f**k. Makes the car look a good 5 years older, standard fairmont rims look much better
