so i did some looking around and read a few threads that indicated that a turbo kit would cost 15000 setup im like f**k im 19 i cant fork out that cash until i found this http://www.streetperformance.com.au/article5.html tell me what you rekon negative and possitive feedback welcome just need some info thanks.

mate it still has no ecu, no cooler and it is missing half the stuff u need.

I have spent 8000 on my kit doing all the work myself. do get me wrong u can do it cheaper but once u have boost u just wont more and if u have cheap parts u will need to change them later. just get a cappa flash tune and a big cam if money is tight u will be well into the 14s

It would be OK for a low boost setup. Although the turbo and wastegate are cheaper items alot of people have still had success with them. The guy offers an intercooler and piping for an extra $300 if im not mistaken. It still works out to be a cheap low boost setup for those who can't afford a setup like NUTZEF.

Also an ECU is not 100% necessary. Bertis from here is running low 13s from his setup without an ECU.

If you have $5500 to spend then thats plenty, If I was you I would go with the Snort stg2 kit. Proven power and reliability. Stage 2 kit is $2999 and AFAIK all you need is intercooler piping and your away. That should be good for 200rwkw without upgrading your fuel.

The article has since been updated with an extra parts section. All up with the intercooler, piping and fuel regulator your looking at about $2200-$2400 posted.

Sure you can go the expensive route for more quality, but you still have the chance of parts failing. I personally had a Garrett 35/40 melt the bearings and burn the shaft after only 5000ks. Hey guess what, no replacement warranty with Garrett and a rebuild kit cost more than the turbo itself.

Each to their own I suppose.

no i never got the kit. just the same turbo.

i had the turbo since i was 16, so when it was time to turbo the falcon, thats what went on.

lasted about 10,000kms then the compressor wheel nut was found in the pod filter, and the compressor wheel had also been machining the compressor cover. not cool

imo those kits look s**t, and for that price i would say they are s**t.

IMO to be complete would also need:

3'' mandrel bent + 3''metal cat complete from dump pipe to
rear
EMS stinger fitting & tuning or using the Edit & tuning
Fabrication of intercooler pipe & powered coating
Hi volume pump
Set 42lb injectors.
Catch can, fittings & hoses
Battery re-location
Removal of sump & modifying for turbo drain hose (aluminium sump)
Turbo timer & boost gauge fitted

Plus Labour, Plus incidentals, you would be looking at over 10k

Ummmm....NO

Bertis has run a 13.1 in his EB with just a basic snort kit and rising fuel reg.

For the last time, you don't NEED all this s**t. Sure if you can afford it go for it but you definately do NOT need it. Get a grip f**k.

Goddamn Mooseman you are such a C**k, said in his opinion (which allows him to say anything he wants) you will need all those other bits, which is totally true.. I agree with him, although you dont need them, as you said. But f**k dude, every topic that you post in you totally spoil the mood pushing your C**k opinion onto everyone.
