Just thinking about the idea... I'll need a new motor soon as this long toothed thing cries "no more boost!"

i'm pretty sure ya cant just drop the DOHC head onto the SOHC block, so you might wanna look at a good 2nd hand BA engine

there is a company out there that does DOHC conversions. cant remember the name tho, but its expensive. around 6 grand i think.
pretty pointless although, he does get quite a bit of power out of it. |

the e-series motor is one motor, the AU is another motor, and the BA is another motor, nothing can be changed between them in the head, block, inlet and exhaust department for a start , have a nice day

not 100% on the spelling, and i know they were doing some work on the X-flows, but not sure on the 4.0's

actually you are wrong the 4.0 i6 are very comon throught the seires even up to ba... just different s**t ie dizzy coil packs etc the au head will fit on ea and vice versa the ba head will fit on the early falco on head BUT u need to change water pump, timming cover, power steering pump the pullys as well i think then u need to get the twin varible cam working and the coil on plug working no mean feat EED250 that company is krogduhl (spelling ) heads it a twin cam twin plug head for ford 4.0's and the old holden 186/202's

the block is physically the same AU-BA, so in terms of "bolt in" it will... problems will be in "bolt on accessories" and timing gear, VCT, and injection control etc....
if u ran a complete BA motor, with BA wireing loom, ECU and BEM somewhere it could be done.. but would be a s**t... |

And does the BA motor bolt to an EA 3 speed?

While I was having extractors fitted to my AU, there was a BA XR6 having extractors fitted and the mtr looked a lot higher than the AU. It might have been the head that made it look physically bigger. ghiaman |

I know for a fact that all the E series up to the AU can be interchanged as Spider is running an AU head, cam and rockers on an ED block. It was a straight swap. As for the BA I dont know but the physical dimensions of the head are a hell of a lot larger to its predecessors.

1 it has 2 cams not 1 2, there are now 4 valves per cyl compared to 2 3. coil on plug ingition has to fit somewere
