Hi all,

I have BA XR6 Turbo. Boosted to 14psi. I currently have standard intake on car with K&N panel filter init.

Would the typhoon intake second snorkel mod make any difference?? Would my current setup be held back by the standard XR intake??

Has anyone done a before and after test with this mod??

Ford want $225 for the second snorkel and the bottom half of the typhoon airbox..

mate, get on ebay, the snorkels sell for under $100, cut it in yourself.... Ford have always been pricey on parts!

The second will definitely help with the extra boost you got out of you're engine...

Have you upgraded you're cooler and pipes yet?

I'm making my own by using thin flexible sheet of aluminum, rivets, silicon & strong bendable wire.

all up, $25.00 for the sheet. the rest is just sitting around the house somewhere! lol

good idea. I might go to bunnings instead of ford and grab some aluminium. I just dont want to make it look bodgy.

What about just cutting a whole in the box with no snorkel at all? Maybe a sheet on the side to block the hot air.??

has anyone measured any benefit??

Nah mate, its better to have a cone or cylinder shape reaching out to under the headlight... otherwise, you'll go backwards when it grabs the heat from the engine bay

I got mine for $190 bucks from the local dealer which included the top half, bottom half (with snorkel) and new air filter.

Makes a very noticeable difference in the mid-range.

Well worth the spend IMO.
