ive got a ba xr6 n/a with typhoon intake setup plus k&n and soon to have a full exhaust system, while searching round on ebay i came across under drivers, they dont appear to be a ebay scam and ive heard brief mention of them on the forums here before, correct me if im wrong, but what ive gathered is the pulleys are smaller in diameter so accessories are slowed allowing less loss of engine power, this will also cause steering to be harder, less water to be pumped, air-con working less and alternator charging less. i know ill have to change the thermostat to a lower temp opening, i rarely use aircon (only on mega hot days), i hate light steering and i dont have a audio system that drains battery power. so im thinking it might look like a good idea, has anyone used these before and are they able to tell me how harshly accessories will be drained and if performance is noticeable, ebay says produces up to 10kw, but i highly doubt this, even tho i would LOVE to be wrong

I know how it takes it from the accesories but i didnt think it was as much as u listed, anyways i will keep my eye on this thread coz im quite interested in this but love my aircon high an my steering is already heavy so i dont want to affect any of that

im pretty sure if affects all 4 accessories as they run on the same belt, ive heard that you should/required to change the thermostat to one that opens at lower temp as the water pump is slowed. but these affects are my theory, in reality ive never seen or experienced before and after under drivers,

I have one installed and notice the power gain, mid range is stronger. There was a video I saw on youtube that was done by a workshop in a back to back test before and after pulley installation which resulted in a 10rwkw gain with the pulley. I haven't noticed a difference in how other accessories operate which are driven by the belt. I was told by the workshop that installed mine that it is a non intrusive modification. Found these links.

hmm sounds interesting, is fitting hard (can you still do it with the engine in the bay), is your car a na 6, turbo 6 or 8?? cause im guessing the more powerful the car the more increase in performance you receive

I am driving a BA XT - cai, extractors, cat, exhaust, underdrive pulley. I thought there was only 1 underdrive pulley for the NA 6 being the powerbond brand. please post links of others would be keen to look. I didn't install mine, but i do believe the engine stays in the car. You do need to remove thermo fans though.

You also need a new belt if installing the underdrive pulley

I am pretty sure the 25% is for the v8s, lol bdjames13 your mods are exactly what i will be doing plus a custom tune to bring it all together better. Perhaps it was a powerbond i saw, i will see if i can find where it was

It would make more sense to fit a thermostat that flows more water, it doesn't mater how soon you open it if water flow is the problem,
Tridon list TT2000-195 as the 'High flow' option with roughly %30 greater flow. |

here are a few links I found for other than powerbond. Alot of people have said they have fitted the powerbond kit and noticed a performance difference while their accessories are still all functioning the same - sounds like a win it. I would want to get the complete kit with belts and pulleys etc
Links http://www.norcom.net.au/~bpt/Ford%20un ... ystems.htm Powerbond link - http://www.precisionparts.com.au/pb_underdrive.html Anyone else got links?
