Aftermarket Harmonic Balancer's are definantly available from places like bursons, etc, not sure if they still sell them genuine....

I wouldn't honestly know as I have never needed to find that out yet.... I'll best leave that answer to someone else on here who does know.

as far as i know there isnt any available for the pre-au six.

there was an EOI early last year from a underdrive suplier on another ford forum, they got a reasonable amount of interest, but never went further than that.

maybe have a yarn to Terry/Barry from BPT from my understanding they were looking at a set for the SOHC's but never really took off.

they might have a answer though at least.

I know that there is no Powerbond underdrive balancer as yet made as i make them. I have tried pushing but they have not been interested as yet :? . BPT may b able to make one. They aren't to hard to make just depends if its viable for the business.

How difficult would it be if you're handy with a lathe? Can you simply figure out how much you want to underdrive each accesory, then make the pulleys accordingly sized and run a longer belt? or am I missing something?

Apart from not changing the crank pulley (which I realise has the greatest weight and probably yields the greatest reduction of moment of inertia by replacement).

Edit: after looking as best I could with engine still in the bay it looks fairly easy to go with bigger diameter pulley's on the power steering and alternator, however there is s**t all clearance between the water pump pulley and the crankshaft pulley.

Also does anyone know how the a/c pulley works? I know it has an electromagnetic switch built into it somehow but not sure on the actual workings/more importantly if its possible to replace with a bigger unit.

Cheers
