there is a pressure switch on the A/C line if its low on gas the clutch on the pump wont kick in anyways.

Got to love conflicting opinions, lol. It still cools the car, just not chilly cold like it used to.
Can I drive with air con, or no? And if no, where is this clutch wire that I could unplug? Thanky.

if its cold it has enough gas, use it, if it doent work it doent have enough gas it wont work anyways because the pump will not operate with no gas pressure in the lines.

Anywhere from $70 up, depending if it is just a regas or a regas and filter/dryer change.
cheers Scott

no harm in a leak apart from ur loosing gas, wow! there is a pressure switch that will stop the clutch from kicking in if gas is too low. just take it to a ac guy tell him to degas it, and then do the hose urself, then take it back and tell him to gas it, not illeagle for you to replace hoses, ac pumps, just to do the gassing/degassing.

If I can do the hose myself, that would be good. What's the name of the actualy hose? So I can get a price from my local Ford dealer.

it is actually illegal for anyone to service or repair an a/c system without the relevant qualifications.
to vent 500 grams of r134a to the atmosphere, the emissions from that would be the equivalent of driving the average family car for around 8 months. i would leave it to a pro, and advise that you fit a new receiver/drier as well as the dessicant in them can only hold so much moisture.[/quote] |
