quick update: had the old owner come over and tell me that the car wouldnt start without the extra earth strap, so another thing that could be the cause. but for now im going stock manifold as i NEED the car going and rego'd by feburary and it still needs the T5 to be put in as i cut the tranny cooler pipes.

only thing left to do is attach the fuel rail and attach the fuel lines, then hopefully it will run.

if not then i have a 4.0 EBII motor ready to be picked up in brisbane next week

fuel rail isnt on yet. was out at a party last night. soo tired... the timing was way out. if i dont get it going this week im buying either an EBII or EL motor and dropping them straight in then (if EBII) fix up the BBM wireing.

i just need it running so i can put the T5 in.

still no progress... i have been flat out at work for christmas and looking after my daughter on my days off. due to this the car is going to the mechanics to get it done as i just dont have enough time right now. once its going ill do the BBM conversion again. the T5 is still going ahead very soon.

its quite sad that this has happened as i had it all worked out till the loom stuffed up and now everything has gone to s**t.

tomorrow ill have a muck around with it but if no hope its going.

hey dude,
have you been able to turn the motor over with the fuel rail on yet? Hope its working out alright. I'm waiting on a new ignition coil to hopefully fix my misfiring issues with my au motor. let me know if you need a hand with anything :)

not yet, the hose for the brake booster went missing and there is another spot on the manifold that needs to be connected to something. i havnt really had the time to connect it and the ants there are killers. once i get some time ill connect it up.

my problem is that i work thurs till 9pm, fri till 5:30, sat till 4:30 and sun till 4, then mon i work till 5:30 again so by the i get home there isnt much light left to work with.

i have a feeling the timing is out (dizzy) or the dizzy itself is stuffed. i have a spare but my family "cleaned up" for me and now i cant find it..

reading through the thread again is getting me back into the get it going mode again.

it is a shame to see you get to the point where you had to get rid of the car i was at that point with mine anything that could go wrong went wrong so i listed mine on ebay aswell but i removed it from ebay today as i have now decided to give myself a bigger headache i bought a wrecked el for $400 so in goes the engine transmission (wish it was 5 speed manual) but beggars cannot be choosers and diff if anyone has done this conversion please let me know of anything i need to be aware of really soon as i am stuck at my workshop until i have it running again

ooohhhh i need parts :P

the motor and box will drop straight in and run off your stock ECU from whatever model you have. however the BBM switch may be an issue. if you have smartlock get an EL computer, if not i recomend a RPM switch from jaycar for around 40 bucks for the DIY kit.

i will be doing this mod to my new falcon so keep your eyes peeled.

where is brisbane are you? i need a few things if you dont use them. like the selector bar thing.

and whats the interior like? i also wanna do the EL trim swap
