G Day Guy's, have heard/read alot about the pacie comp's mostly good. Is it worth the extra dollars to up grade to the PH 4480 comp's, are they that much better than the Ph 4499's. My only concern is the loss of low end torque being a tuned length extractor, supposedly better for top end high rev power.

I went from stock headers to the comps, and have picked up low end torque, and a big surge at around 4,200RPM through to redline. Everyone whos been in my car says what was that?
It's yet to be re-dynoed so I don't have any numbers yet.

i swapped my Lukies and gutted cat for Pacey comps and new hi flow cat, and gained bottom pulling power.

just had them fitted yesterday with a new cat (old one was roooted) and they are really good, more low end power and after about 3500rpm its pulls real hard all the way.

being a tuned length extractor doesn't mean they are for high rpm power. they can be 'tuned' for different rpm bands. the length, shape, size and configeration. (6-2-1, 6-3-1 6-1) all have a bearing on the rpm they work at. and as most have said they make really good low down power. because they are not tuned for high rpm. |

Thanks for the replies guy's. Looks like I'll be upgrading to the Comp's. Any ideas on a high flow cat or should I just get the original moded with 2.5" pipe and flanges, as far as I know the cat has been on the car for 160,000 km. Car is basically stock with a view to a mild cam "Wade 1636" street port job on the head and hopefully the Cappa flash tuner when it comes out for the EEC IV and EEC V.

The Falcon cats flow pretty good anyway, as long as your cat is in good nick, there's no real need to change.

Truth to be told I wouldnt worry about swaping over extractors.
PAccie comps are the best extractors, but then paccie non-comps arent that bad also. For the money I wouldnt bother, as you would probably pick up only a few Kw's. With regards to the flash tuner, I didnt think anyone had cracked the EECV or EEC yet? Therefore the only options are interceptor chips or a whole new cpu. If you want to go to those troubbles I would recommned a bigger cam (1534a?, JMM)

Thanks Drazull, Spork posted in the ECU/Fuel forum in the "sticky" about the Cappa tuner and there was an article in the #4 street machine about ECU's with a foot note saying there was a flash tuner coming for the EEC IV and EEC V computers, also a couple of good articles on the BTR 4 speed auto and buying E Series Fords.
