Mate of mine has just accidentally put a bottle of performance oil supplement into his fuel tank. I've told him to just get a bottle of engine fuel injector cleaner and run it till empty, will it do the engine any harm, its a BA XT sedan.

i think more important than injector cleaner would be an octane booster..
oil will decrease a fuels octane and may result in the engine pinging. (hopefully the knock sensors etc will be able to correct for this) id throw a bottle of octane boost in there and just drive it carefully and gently til the tank is emptied. -mitch

Ok seen as thwere is only under 200ml's added to the tank, we've just added a bottle of pro strength octane boost and on advice from a mech been told it won't do any harm, the additive is an engine cleaner not oil thickener and will be fine, just dont do it again.
