hi tried a search but no helpon what i needed

got an ef fairmont and putting in a cam need to know when others have double shimmed the rocker gear has anyone ever replaced the small o rings on the lash adjusters , need to know if i can put it all back together without these o rings and hope it wont make that god awfull tapping noise . cheers

No you dont have to put the lash adjuster captive ring however i could make it difficult to fit the lash adjusters as you tension down the rocker gear.

As for the lash adjuster noise it will be noisy if you have drained the oil out of them before putting them in, it will take some time for the oil to fill the lash adjusters.

I didn't use the "O" rings when I did mine I used tape to hold them and pulled it out when it was fitted. BUT the "O" rings would make it allot easier.
