found a bad plug and a dodgy lead this morning so sorted that and away it purred as it should do ! took it for a gentle run, filled it with fuel and lpg to check all was well and it was till i swapped onto gas and gave it some acceleration... bang ! backfired so i put it right back onto petrol.... now what happened next was it would putt along nice but no power and will not rev past 1500 and was s**t with cars up my a** wondering wtf was going on ! so, turned off into a quiet street and let it sit turned off for a few mins to see if it would right itself... er, no ! so putted home about 5k at 20klms an hour.... f**k nightmare !


so whats happened ? some sort of limp mode ? how do i get rid if it ? running beautiful but just refuses to rev and revs will hang about 1500-2000 in neutral or park if revved....

need car for kids school and work tomorrow so any help would be appreciated.... i am going to disconnect battery for a while see if that clears it.... but don't want it to happen again !

ps, changes gear fine as i done a search and it came up witt gearbox problems... mine has no box/gear changing issues....

checked all hoses, no leaks,reset battery for 1/2 hr..no difference, all fluid levels perfect !

check your cat and fuel filter. give the cat a solid hit, if it rattles its stuffed, a blocked fuel filter will also cause it to fail under load when running on fuel. The gas side of things? not sure not a gas man myself, but I may suggest that a blocked/collapsed cat could also cause backfire.

yer not far away, something in the mixer has collapsed/failed and restricting airflow hence no power...i took all the piping off and it revved hard and clean ! just need to tidy up the hoses and get rind if that s**t gas setup !
