If the power steering pressure switch goes, it usually creates a hell of a mess. ATF will be everywhere as the switch is in the high pressure side of the steering. When mine went on my EA ATF was all over the exhaust with clouds of smoke billowing out of the engine bay.
If the engine bay is relatively clean then I would suggest that you have a very slow leak that gone unnoticed. Fill the power steering up, start the engine and turn the wheels from side to side while looking in the engine bay near the exhaust. If the pressure switch has failed you will soon know. If it hasn't then look for leeks at the ends of the two hoses. 1 x high pressure 1 x low pressure.

id say so . undo the wires from the back (thats where it normaly leaks from ) then use ya spanner to undo it and remove. degrease ur wires so it will not a\effect the new switch that ull have to get . price not to sure allow yaself 50 bucks or so . ring ya local auto shop (supercrap, auto one ,repco ) ask for a power steering switch for ya model car. they should have one instore.
once u have it screw the new one in plug ur wires in fill it up with fluid and degrease ur engin bay . just make sure u do it up tight enought so it dosnt leak. hope this helps |

Well actually I'm going in the S-Pac with my bro lads, lol. And the power steering fluid is in the garage. No need to get in the boot.
Yeah I'll see how it goes Kustomz.

Go to Repco, Ford will charge $70.00 and don't forget the O ring seal. You will also need to cut a 14mm open end spanner in half to fit in. Watch the clip on the electrical plug when you pull it off, they tale off on ya.

Hmmm, how do I cut a spanner in half? I know I need one that is not as thick as I can't get in there with my normal 14mm spanner. Can't I just buy something?
Also no new o-ring, that cool? lol.

What he means is to grind one down till its thin enough to fit.

I ground an old spanner down and bent it in half, that's the only thing i ever use it on.
It's a b**ch of a thing to undo without it. |
