As long as the degreaser isn't conductive, otherwise WD-40 should clean it

Okay, everything reinstalled. I used what i had left of power steering fluid to replace the stuff I lost, then the bottle was empty.
Turned on the car, did some full locks and after a little bit of driving it's still moaning. Checked the unit again and the level is down, but I'm guessing that's the fluid getting back into the system. Should I go buy some more fluid and top it up? Is it the lack of pressure from the lack of fluid the problem?

Woot, all fixed.
Made it to my local shell and was able to top up. No leaks and no more moaning, all back to normal. Cost me $45 for the switch and $8 for the fluid. I can only imagine how much a mechanic would of charged. Thanks lads, always a pleasure.

A Mechanic cost me $110 to install switch and top up. That was 10 years ago.

Au man, Unless you want to completely rebuild you rack yourself, you will not fix that one seal.
Is has to be removed from inside, and to do so, gotta take all the guts out. I do have an AU rack(full reco), but MUST be changeover. Price is $220 pp. Although your in another state, it can be done. Pm if intrested.
