I want to know the advantages and
disadvantages they have? I think the V6 goes harder off the line.....and I am speaking a stock V6, and then the i6 will catch up though 2nd and 3rd gears and then the i6 ends up running all over the V6. I have experienced this quite a lot just having drags with my mates, with their fully sick commodores mate.

So you are talking about the V6 in commodores.
Well what you are experiencing isn't all that much to do with the motor but the gearing and weight of the cars. Sounds like you are racing an auto falcon against and auto commodore |

I expect all laughs at me, but I cant afford to get it converted to manual yet.
Yes I am talking about my mates auto commodore as well, at least its a fair race.....right So its all a gearing thing, it had nothing to do with what engine is better then the other?

Nah it's not real fair, because the commodores 1st gear ratio s**t all over the falcons. That is pretty much the sole reason he gets you off the line and you are left playing catch up
IMO the only advantage of the V6 over the I6 is the space saving in the engine bay, I reckon Fords motor is SO much better than the commodore motor. If you were to put your motor in the lighter commodore and with their automatic transmission it would absolutely hammer! |

Or put a manual in the falc. Speaking of Voxace does the manual change the sluggish off the line launch?

So the only real way to combate this cheaply
is to add a high stall? or What about one of those shifter kits, I dont know much about this sort of stuff, I am only new to the game back when cash was in ample supply I would have just put a new diff in it.....oh how is used to have money....

Shift kit might help.
You could stall the car up for a harder launch. Or buy a stall converter. Mabey you need more mods.

To quote a movie " I need NOS" hahahahahaha
Well i tihnk I need to convert my car to MPFI, its only the sh it centre point engine, so the next question is, What does it cost to convert to MPFI? I have added the 2.5' system to my car and havn't dragged yet, and I likely to see the performance gain out of this?

Not a huge gain, but you may notice a lift in acceleration and torque, what type of lukey system is it?

Its a 2.5' mandrel bent (I question that, i think its a press bent) sports system, without the resonator and also without the rear muffler only the centre turbo muffler.
I thought about going extractors, but I doubt they do as much as people pi ss on about them. I could see in a roace care they would be great, but on a road car where the speed limit is only 60 around town I dont see the great advantage of them.

Anything that helps the car breath better is going to help in some way, no matter how insgnificantly.
exhaust extractors fliters inductions, etc. they'll all do more good than bad.

The comments about any help to flow being a good thing are perfectly valid - but IMO you're quite right not to get too bent out of shape about not having extractors. They're the sort of thing to get if/when you have spare dough to do it, but it's not like your car's performance is crippled in the meantime. IMO the std Ford manifold is not too shabby for a factory effort - and certainly on EB/ED XR6 they just run those std manifolds from the factory.

So a stall converter should be alright
But still can anyone tell me about these shifter kits? also does anybody know about what the price is to change the car to MPFI?

A manual conversion will leave the v6 drivers scracthing there head and thinking "WTF!!!????" Even some of the v8 boys with be wondering what the hell just happened to them
Extractors are a good investment IMHO. But having said that, I dont have them, and my car made 120rwkw with only a cat back system and xr8 CAI.
