hey all again.
in the process of removing my bbm i snapped this vacum hose off. 2 hoses run from it. 1 goes to the rocker cover(at the front and the other god knows where lol. 
can ya'll tell me what its for? its running a bit lumpy at idle. will i be fine to run like this for a bit? cheerrs.

yes, 1 hose goes to the PCV valve at the front of the rocker cover.
then second runs down the the vacuum reservoir IIRC, the hose goes down under the air box inside the wheel arch. or is that ABS? i forget its either the vacuum reservoir or the ABS module. itll be running rough cause its there will be a big vacuum leak.

that would possibly be the charcoal cannister, not vacuum reservoir?

what would happen if u disconect the PCV and block up any vacume leaks would t still run ok

if you pull off the PCV I think the car just stops...I think that's what happened with mine when I disconnected it. If not the car would run really rough.
Going a tad off-topic...should the PCV valve be on tight or loose? because mine is loose and swivels and I can pull it off easily. phong =P~

Thats for the charcoal cannister, there is a hose coming from it with a solenoid on it. If the intake manifold leak is plugged up of the leak, it should run okay, and probably will take away your lumpy idle.
What comes out of that hose is fuel vapour, from the fuel tank - no different really to having a leaky seal on your fuel cap. But remember that fuel vapour is flammable. So it would be wise to plug up the hole coming from the solendoid as well. |

There should be two hoses there, on an F-connector, one goes to PCV valve - standard vacuum hose, the other is fuel hose, and goes to the charcoal cannister.

the log manifold has a f type air fitting but my el bbm doesnt ...
maybe im missing something?? at the moment my canister purge vac hose is running of one of the branches in the top of manifold (where the brake booster hose is.)... |

That will work (where the purge line is). The log style manifold does have an F-piece, and I am hard pressed at the moment to remember if my AU manifold has an F piece or two outlets. However if you have the charcoal cannister attached to the pipewhere the brake booster is, when the fuel reg is attached, where do you get your main vac feed line from (for your air con etc.)?

i have the brake booster line plus there are 3 small lines on that fitting 1 is the fuel reg 2 is the vac line for the aircon vents 3 has a t piece with the canister line and the vac hose for bbm switch solinoid.... im not sure if thats how its supose to but it all works the same... |

I see, mine has only two (in addition to the brake booster), and then the F-piece underneath for the cannister and pvc. Doesn't really matter how they are hooked up though in reality, as long as there is negative pressure applied to those lines.
