Installing a wade 977b, on a 300,000km (but grandpa driven with log books) motor. Should I be getting new valve springs or retainers and where can I buy them?

Also is it better to get new shims from ford rather than looking at the wreckers?

Wade say the cam can be used with standard springs. If you're going to go to redline & beyond, then you may as well get new springs. XR6 springs aren't much better than standard ones.

Crow Cams & Atomic sell springs & retainers. Not sure if you need new collets as well.

old shims should be fine. I have a mix of old and new shims in my rockers without issues.
