for those of you who have them. what do you have it set at for now? iv got mine set 4 degrees advanced but not sure if its right. thinking about gettin it dyno tuned so i can get the valve timeing dead on. cheers

Mines 2° advanced (1° on the cam gear). Haven't done any playing with it.

I thought that with new chains it would be set at 0?

that depends if the TDC mark on the crank pully is in the right spot. most of the time it's not, so first thing is to find the right TDC and make adjustments from there |

advancing the cam, helps lower the power band on a cam - my big Alted cam, didn't kick in til nearly 3,100RPM, advancing it 2° brought it down a few hundred RPM.
But of course with a big lift cam you can run into clearance troubles advancing/retarding to far.
