Hey was just wondering if an adjustable vernier cam gear would make a difference on a standard cam or xr6 cam

im sure tho the vernier gear would provide just a fraction of extra pull from ya beast but not as much as having a grumpy after market care form the likes of RPD or WADE so as far as extra power gained vs the money..hrmm dunno if you could justify it...certainly worth it a/m tho...

oh and on a standard cam dont bother...xr cam yeh maybe up to u

cam gear allows you to adjust the powerband of the cam...

Even once you get it, you have to know how to adjust it to suit the cam (which no-one knows and no instuctions come with it)

Im happy with where mine is set at the moment tho

it will make a difference if you cam timing is wrong for some reason.

things like chain stretch shaving the head or using a thinner head gasket will all effect the cam timing.
when you check the cam timing you also need to find true TDC not just use the near enough is good enough mark on the pully.

hmmmm never trust balancer marks. We found that out the hard way when we trusted an EF balancer and it had spun a full 40odd degrees. Crazy that it had done this, but we didnt think to check it before pulling the motor down, we had never seen anything like it before!!

yeah, not much mandrel induction piping to heat up with the pipe being so short and the time from the air passing the pod to the throttle body must make fore low intake temps and good throttle reaction.. would be scared around the cops though..
