You need 2 to do it properly.
one for TDC and one for lift.

I can help out, dunno about scottie(he's fairly busy atm) but yeah, its all good

wicked cheers jonno. i'll be seeing scotty tomorrow arvo anyways, so i'll have a chat to him then. rem also wants to put his (yours) cam in as well - maybe we do all at the same time? interested? frank - you too! :P

ahhh secret

no well if it ony a cam change and there are 2 ppl insted of ripping the tensioner out someone holds the chain and cam gear nice and tight while some one else gets the old cam out and puts the new cam in only a few seconds works a treat
i have doen this! so easy
saves takeing off teh power steering pump

frazer i wouldnt mind coming along to help drink the beer.
i mean watch and learn how to do em for when i get mine..
plus ill bring tools as well.

will meet the rest of you blokes on the cruise this weekend.

did a burnout today in the wreckers yard. got oil n s**t all over rear tyres.. drove home slidin round everywhere haha id suggest it to anyone!.

i don't see why you need 2 dail gauges to do it.

just use one. put the thing on TDC then use the same gauge on the cam to messure the lift..
if it's wrong move the cam and the crank will stay still.


hell you don't even need one to get TDC. get on old spark plug knock the guts out of it and weld or braze a bolt down the hole
wind the engine one way till it stops and mark the ballancer the wind it the other way and mark the ballancer. TDC is half way between the 2 marks

Yeah, that is another way to do it, but it aint as accurate.

And having one for tdc makes it quicker also, the timing is farly important to get rite.

finding TDC how i just said it, will be perfect every time. unless your blind

even with a dail gauge there is dwell time of a few degrees
my way there is no dwell time at all
