VN Commodore SS Auto or EL Falcon XR6 Auto??? Both completely stock..

vn is definately faster but your comparing an 8 to a 6. Couldn't get el xr6 but i'm pretty sure its in the 15's and has a 0-100 of around 8 or so.

VN SS should horribly rape an EL XR6 auto. Sorry to say it but Ford 1st gear is a loooong b**ch.
After 80km/h, could be a whole different story though

But the XR6 has the 3.45 diff. Should even them up shouldnt it? It would be that long of a first gear would it?
But if the XR6 EL beats the EL XR8 why doesnt it give the VN SS a good run for its money?? It should probably beat it??

Dude, you got the answer you were looking for - it's right there in that link - 14.4 or 15.0 400m for the worst time... pretty sure the EL Xr6 was around 15 and a half, no?
I dont kno wi f gearing is the key here - the VN SS gA had 215kw and 411Nm - which BTW was almost unheard of in the falcadore range of its time.

vn has a weigh advantage and shorter gears doesn't it? the vn ss was the quickest commo going around until the gen III. Heaps of potential too. I had my a** handed to me by one the other night.

I drove a VN SS Auto. It was nice but not overly quick. Feels torquey more than anything. I reckon its fractionally faster than a VN V6. probably just pulls a little better in second gear.
It doesnt rock n roll untill about 3000-3500rpm, (30/40km/h) bangs into second about 70km/h (with a slight little chip) and then pulls nicely to 100km/h. I reckon mid to high 7s 0-100. Maybe our XR6 auto would be in the hunt here.

I doubt it. 15s for an Auto VN SS versus prpobably high 15's for an auto EL XR6. This makes how many versus threads lol.... |

Dont we all want a one up on our neighbour or competitor? why else modify? Mines bigger than yours mentality. So the versus threads are the reason most modify

Maybe our XR6 auto would be in the hunt here. Sure will mate. Despite what some people may say, an auto XR6 will NOT get raped by an auto VN SS... Manual for manual, the XR6 is faster. Everything you say about the SS is true, and it's exactly what I think too. She doesn't really start pulling until about 3,000rpm, whereas the XR6 has power everywhere. By the way: IF YOU DON'T LIKE A THREAD OR ARE NOT INTERESTED IN IT, DON'T READ IT AND DON'T POST IN IT!!! SIMPLE!!! |

have anybody had any experience racing an auto xr6 vs an auto vn ss??
let me tell you the auto xr6 would not have a chance. vn is lighter and more powerful plus commodores always have the better driver an xr6 manual should keep an auto vn ss and a manual vn ss at bay though. |
