lol nah guys they were some times i found on the net from a old wheels or motor mag for both cars, and the times with the mods i just guessed , but that was with realy good mods and most power from all the mods.

but i still dont think the ef xr6 would win i just said it had some chance of keeping up lol.

well i know a ef xr6 can keep up witha supercharged commo vt and they go pritty good. so go the fords.

With a dev 4 cam unichip extractors exaust I get 0-100 in 6.5 seconds.Thats in an automatic AU station wagon and with 150 kgs of tools in the boot. I can only imagine how quick it would be with a lighter bodied car and no tools.

HSV senators came out with the 6 speed box as an option.

So it would seem that the 185kw (IIRC 5L of any sort) from the VR-VS-VT (?) left stock are slower than a mildly worked falcon six?

If we're talking manual, then yeah, even a stock six will give em a touch up.

Was it REALLY a GTR? Cause if it was, there wouldn't be many on this site. You really need a fairly nasty V8 or fight fire with fire and slap a turbo on the 6 to take it too a GTR.
And that's hoping the GTR is stock.
Actually thinking about it, that was just silly taking on a GTR, did you WANT to get embarassed??

yeah taking on a GTR in an auto fairmont is just silly :P

I play with wrx's, 200sx's etc, but I know that if I come up against one that's got big mods I'll go down.

true that NC... but back to "taking on GTR's", seriously there ain't many on these forums that could run with a stock one, let alone one thats been fiddled with. And I am talking *GTR* not a GTS-T with a wannabe GTR bodykit.

is that a 215 kW GTS?

apparently those things never put out anywhere near the quoted figure. Beside, they're ugly anyway.

Go for the XR you'll save money on insurance and it's less likely to be stolen

The only thing that you might consider over the VS GTS would have to be the EL XR8 II, preferably manual. The GTS would chew up the XR6. Before I found my Ghia in an 8 I was looking at either a VS SS or VS GTS, only for the fact that an EL Fairmont Ghia fully kitted up with an 8 was too hard to come by, especially at the right price.

Also a GTS would be more expensive than an EF XR6 so I'd say you could step up the mark on the ford side of things and go for something with a little more grunt, say the 6 speed EL XR II with 48000 odd kilometers on it - now that should beat the GTS!!!!

Getting back to the the other HSV's from the 1994- 1996 (EF years)

The GTS 5.7 L will munch pretty much anything.
The other 5 Litres (185 kw) can give a fight BUT can be slower than a worked I6. (depending on model and a few other bits and pieces)?

? ? ?
