Getting back to the the other HSV's from the 1994- 1996 (EF years)

The GTS 5.7 L will munch pretty much anything.
The other 5 Litres (185 kw) can give a fight BUT can be slower than a worked I6. (depending on model and a few other bits and pieces)?

? ? ?

i raced a vt ss 5ltr in my fairlane and it only beat me by half a car length and both cars were stock, not to mention he needed to learn how to launch his car.

vt SS is a laugh, vx SS ute is ok, can keep on the bumper of an vx SS ute upto bout 120 then they pull pretty well as ive said before.

Havnt tried anything later altho im sure itd wipe me..

All stock 6cyl holden/fords are a breeze - 5L vr/vs are pretty avg all tho ive seena few with some mods ipresume get up n go, manual.
Yet to have a play tho.

all i have to say is that the GTS will throw you around like a toy. Those things have unbelievable torque, miles ahead of the run of the mill 185kw motors. Jesus, my mates VP SS, stock as a rock, i cant beat him, we are dead even now, same with my other mates VT SS 5 litre, dead even, commodores i hate to say are quick as they are lighter that ur average falcon, and better geared.

At the track another mates VT SS Gen III was running better times than BA GT's (290 kw) and his car is stock with a 2.5 inch twin system. All up the 215KW strokers are weapons, i dont think even an EL II XR8 manual would beat one.

If its a 195 it's not a stroker, being both auto's the hsv will get the xr off the line but the xr should pull him back in. My mate has a VT cluby with 195 manual with 170rwkw (stock besides zorst) my stock ED manual beat it by a car length now it's modded (160rwkw) I beat it by 2 1/2 car lengths.
My XR8 ute just keeps up with it though bit dissapointed with that really.

i recon the boys on the xr6 turbo forum could keep up with a stock gt-r down the quater.

and i still think that the ef xr6 has alot in it tuned properly.

i highly doubt it.
a stock r34 gt-r will consistantly do low to mid 13 sec quarters.
remember reading motor about the nurburgring spec gtr and they were doing 12.5-8 sec quarter runs without a hiccup from dropping the clutch at 6 grand

Some magazines state high 13's some high 12's.. But id say there is more htne an handful falcons out there which will put it over a GTR and even an mildly tuned one.

I will back Neil up on this statement.A modded six will beat most older holdens v8 or not and keep up with the new ss commies on the street.

0-100 Speeds.

Ps Neil last I heard you ran 150 rwkws ....what have you done since?

Ride: BA XR6 Turbo

On the topic of 0-100 runs, this one suprised the hell out of me last night:

2 runs with a mates manual XR6 Turbo ute with APS phase II kit dyno'd at around 280rwkw.
We both babied it off the line - me because I didn't want wheelspin and him because of his nasty clutch (brass button maybe ? I can't remember)

The verdict ? 1st and 2nd I could hear his turbo whistling away in my ear at the door :) but he didn't pull infront until 3rd gear! He rapidly pulled a few car lengths ahead when I hit 3rd but after a few seconds he stopped pulling away. Shortly after we had to back off because of traffic but yeah, I was very suprised!! Both runs were the same with him not pulling ahead until over 100ks. I thought he would have demolished me with over 100rwkw more than I have. Surely the extra weight of the BA's can't swallow up that much power... :?

ok xr6 turbo c and v performance phase two upgrade kit.
330kws
price tage car with kit $ 51,575

0-100 ............4.90..........0-400............12.8 in the auto
0-100 ............5.20...........0-400............13.35 in manual

for this price tag i think that the ford six turbo is a good car down the strait.

ok now xr6 turbo aps kit phase 3
400kws
price tag car and kit $ 54,535

0-400...........11.68@195km/h top

xr6turbo forum member geea did a mid ten second pass a few weeks ago at the new eastern creek drag strip.

this shows how cheap it is to do up a falcon xr6 turbo and how they can keep up with cars that cost twice as much maybe not on the bends but down the straigt for sure.
