VS GTS was pulling a 195kw afaik. The EF XR6 163kw with cam, exhaust and extractors that figure will go up considerably but not close to 195kw.

Lose the spare, run on empty, soften tires and practise launch.... see what happens :)

What motor does the GTS have? If its got the 5.7 stroker (215kw and a s**t load of torque), you would pretty much get owned all day, every day.

Sorry but I would take none .

Given a choice only for a car to drive daily & not be that concerned were I park cheaper on fuel & insurance the Ford EFXR6.

For a historic collector car for the future the HSV. Who wants the headache of worrying about theives & the cost of sourcing genuine parts for it. As its not a car you could be complacent with parking anywhere.

VS HSV GTS

215 KWS
475 NM TORQUE

WEIGHT...1380-1450 KG

0-100 AUTO 6.19
0400 AUTO 14.39

EF XR6

164KWS...........................AFTER MODS...........190-200KWS
366NM TORQUE............................................. 430-450 NM TORQUE

WEIGHT.........1480 - 1540 KG

0-100 AUTO 7.86.....................................0-100 6.0- 6.5
0-400 AUTO 15.37...................................0 - 400 14.0 - 14.5

Now lol u can see that maybe he has a chance depending on how good the mods are and if he has a good air filter and cold air induction system to give him good throtle responce on take off.

and depends on the cam if it gives him more kick after 60 he might have a good chance of keeping up with the hsv.

but it also depends on what condition the gear box is in and how much power loss both gearboxes are lossing.

good luck lol.

^^^ Would a cam with extractors/exhaust make that much of a difference? How did you come to those 0-100 / 0-400 times for the XR6 :? ?

yeah i cant see how (would love to be proved wrong) you could get it in mid-low 14's with just those mods especially in an auto. if those times for the hsv are right then theres a good chance you will get hammered

If you have a good cam, extractors ETC..you should beat the HSV 0-100 quite convincingly.

I have found the Holden commies even till this day are not as much chop on the 0-100 as what they think they are.On the 1/4 mile he has tthe advantage.

I'd like a drive of *THAT* EF... hate to say it but the GTS would own it. The 5.7 stroker had sooo much torque down-low it just ain't funny. Would even be a close one against the Manual Sprint..

Pfft, sorry to say but there snt much Q to it.. The GTS would own the EF xr6, even with those mods and i also doubt those mods would equal those figures, but not getting into that now..

The GTS was made differently to the EF xr6; they are totally different types of car, sure this is a Ford based forum and i do expect the true "ford boys" to say he has a good chance if he can do this with these mods on this day at certain temp bla bla bla, but down to it, it ait gonna happen - simple.

Only thing which gives you a chance is he is auto, altho yours is auto also so that evens that out so both will be mech geared, and accurate, no chance for stuff ups.

An EF xr6 is a nicer car to drive, looks much better in and out, more comfy, but no way has the beans to overtake the GTS in a head to head.

Out of each car, id personally rather own the xr6, but for speed bragging rights the GTS is a step or two ahead.
