Hey guys just after a few opinions. My mate just put his car into the brock shop and got some work done. He has the supercharged v6 VY and he had a 10psi pulley put on and also extractors/exhaust got it chipped and a pod filter added. He had it dyno'd and claims that it has 201kw and 141rwkw. I think for the money he paid(excess of $5000) to get this work done i reckon it made sweet f**k all improvement. What do you guys think???

I just want to know if he got f**k ripped just so i can laugh at him. And by the way we have been to the drags before he had this work done and i beat him twice. Not bad from an au with a sports exhaust hehehehehe

$5000 does sound a bit high and 201kw is not much for that price (supercharger upgrade is less) also a supercharger that gives 300kw-310kw to a 4L is $5,600

i like the bit about the au beating a supercharged VY thou

but sreiuosly, of course u won, its a ford :D

should be 201 rwkw or more with what he paid. did they rebuild the charger as well?

roughly break it down above normal price. headers= $500, Exhaust= $500, overdrive pulley= $400, filter= $110, chip= $1000. total of $2510 in parts. the other $2490 is labour due to them trying to figure out how to press the new pulley back on.

rip off

they had 171Kw atfw stock so for $5000 30Kw is piss poor i'd assume holden would have run these chargers at lowest possible power to avoid warranty issues so with a tweak they should get heaps more than that out of them

the holden v6 superchargers did f**k all. Holden bolted them on and they gave them like 16rwhp at most.

Holden only did it because they were told to by GM america.

But in actual fact the holden V6 motor is supposed to have a turbo on it as that is what they were designed for.

I think the brock shop are more into the v8 side of things, had a mate take his SS ute in there, spent like $4000 and now the thing hauls a***.

that figure is about right (maybe a tad low) but the moeny is paid is stupid.

the factory super6 commodores are around 170kw.

the factory charger with 10psi, extractors exhaust and tune should pull around 220rwhp. it doesnt seem like much, but they have lots of toque from low down, with his power atm with good driving he should be seeing 14.2's at least.

however, the amount he paid is abit excessive.

he should have paid closer to
1k for extractors and exhaust
~700 for a chip
~600 i think it is for a 10psi pulley.

perhaps you need to direct your friend to http://v6supercharged.com.au/

based in perth but ship around aus. even the boost upgrade he could have fitted himself, and the factory computer will run 10psi quite easily.

guy at my tafe has an auto VX supercharged. All he has done is a cat-back exhaust, secondary intake pipe and 10psi pulley (didn't spend anywhere near 5k for that) and ran a 14.8 at caulder a couple of weeks ago.
