Its really good cam, has power from the get go and fades out at 4000-4500rpm. Its really torquey in the mid range as well. Good cam for towing or just normal everyday driving, it makes it more effortless. I made 140rwkw with the cam. I have the 1673 now its not as punchy off the line but has more power and pulls to redline.

Cheers

Im using an auto, if you look under my sig you will see the car domain link, i had all the mods listed there except for the SCT chip and bigger injectors and yeah the different cam.

You will need to put shims in, you need to put the standard size shims on top of the original ones. It cost around $300ish to put the cam in and that was including the shims (the mechanic had shims at his place).

I had a 1636 in my old 3.9L engine, last year, running with an auto. It hunted a little at idle because it needed a bit more fuel pressure (a mechanic pointed it out when dynotuning the car). The car went even better after I installed a 3.7 diff. As mentioned, it's got plenty of oomph in low-mid range.

I've still got a set of 12 shims here for the EA-EB 14mm rocker arms.

You'll only need to put extra shims into the rocker arms if you get a regrind. If you get the billet camshaft, then no need for shims. I believe springs don't need to be upgraded for the 1636, if you plan on getting a bigger cam later on, might as well upgrade the springs now. 1636 works well with the auto. If you want more information, visit the sponsor section.

EA-ED rocker gear use 14mm dia. shims and the EF-EL use 11mm dia. shims. And as phongus mentioned, you'll need an extra shims if you get a reground cam (one in each rocker).
