Installed a wade 1673 cam into my el yesterday and just thort id post sum piks for the ppl who dont kno whats involved.

The pic of the timing chain is to show that u dont need to take out the tensioner to get the gear off, just use a wedge to release the tension instead, saves alot of time.

Ran like s**t on first start up cos it fouled 2 plugs cos it runs so rich, but after we cleaned them up it ran beautiful. also runs really well on gas, for ppl wondering how they work with gas...

its a manual el sedan, noticed a fair bit of increase in torque especially from like 3500 up it just pulls. yeh was $151 plus postage and 20 buks for shims from wreckers with lifters and rocker gear. wen u do decide to do ur cam sv-valiant, make sure u line up the groove on the timing gear with the one on the cam before u put the rocker gear on or you'll make things harder for yourself lol.

Hey, nice write up.

I installed a Wade 1673 in to my Wagon today, and I agree with you. It is a great cam, with no loss of bottom end, and works well in the mid to high rev range.

I also have LPG, and I have the same drive-ability as before. I do suffer from a lack of top end while on LPG, but am intending to get the mixtures checked.

Cheers
BenJ

On petrol it pulls all the way to the redline.

On LPG it runs out of puff, due to the inability of the LPG system to be able to deliver enough gas at high rpm. Even with the stock cam this was the case while on LPG.

Sorry to hijack the thread but would this be a good turbo cam? Been looking but can't find much off the shelf.

What type of extractors do u have fitted, exhaust system been done too? how long did it take to fit the cam. Did wade cams regrind your existing cam or was that a changeover/straight buy.
