Id be getting your car checked over and a tune before doing any mods to it. 270kms is really bad i get about 400-450km out of tank with that cam but i have a chip so it wont be running as rich as the standard tune.

With the 1673, I'm using a 3.23 & 5 speed and get about 14L/100km or 20mpg around town. What diff ratio have you got? Has this just started since installing the cam?

I suggest you check for vacuum leaks, oxygen sensor, MAP sensor and maybe even timing. On a standard XR6 you should be getting at least 350km per tank... heavy driving...

My standard motor (non-XR) was getting 450km per tank with a bit of squirt...with the 1673 and XR motor, I am getting no less then 400km per tank city driving. Highway driving only (Melb - Syd) about 700km per tank. On average (50/50 highway/metro) I get about 500km per tank.

So as suggest before, figure out why your standard car is drinking so much before you put the cam in. I would safely assume that you won't be getting better economy if you have faulty sensors.

Mate, thats pretty f**k!!
I've got a 1673, extractors, exhaust, manual, 3.45s, j3 chip, and can pull 600+ kms from a tank giving it stick!! Fuel economy has barely changed from stock!

I get around the 400 mark with my EB XR6, 3.45s, 4499s, 2.5" exhaust, 5 speed. If i give it hell though it really drinks it (300-350 per tank). Also needs a tune and is due for a service.

Another mine, I know. Does anyone have full specs of the "auto grind" 1673-14? It is not listed on Wade's website as far as I can tell.

There isnt an auto grind, 1673 specs are 1673 specs, only thing that can change is the LSA which effectively widens or narrows the power band.
