Auto or manual? Any other work been done. If it's auto and you've just done the other basics like CAI and exhaust I'd go for the updated version of the 1604.

Yeah it's an auto. The only other thing i've done is CAI. What gains would i get from the 1604???

Compared to my standard EF one it made the power come on earlier, since it's based on the XR cam A.F>A.I.K. it might work even better with an XR/Tickford head. I fitted the Tickford XR ECU aswell and that improved it some more.
But don't get the 1604, get the new version of it what ever it's called, ment to be even better.

I rang wade cams for a cam for my AU. He said they don't do AU cams, as they cannot get them to idle properly. it's an ECU thing apparently.

I was shattered... :(

OK but that's not what they told me. He said it made excellent gains and ran well, however struggled to hold idle. Looks like i'll have to go somewhere else and spend heaps more money dammit :x

bloody map sensor, do you know any other profile that would benefit the AU's ?.
I heard crow cams make a few profiles "high torque" "stage 1-3" I think, depending on mods.

The crow cams are a good product and as long as your willing to have a small cam you can get away without the chp, to benifit from a larger unit the chip is a must, I used to buy 5+ cams a week from wade so when I started to get requests for AU's they told me straight up regardless of lobe seperation and duration the thing was showing no real increases but alot of loss in idle qualaity.
