Get some twin pipes setup to split from besides the dif, i went from a single 2.5 to this and it is much louder and deeper when idling. It does drone a bit but I just have the music up a bit more and dont notice it.

here is a video of it, more pics and info in my build thread (middle of page 3)

Hey I've just put a full pacemaker system including extractors and a yella terra cold air induction , sounds bloody awesome , but noticed it's lost initial take off , like as if it's not as responsive ? Do u think it needs a tune ??? Ba xr6 mk2

exhaust back pressure is good for instant off the line torque, putting aftermarket headers on reduces the back pressure, and hence the reduction in off the line.
but to be honist you really shouldn't notice it that much, plus the extra power once the revs kick up should outway any reduction off the line.
what pacemaker headers did you get? 4490 or 4495

Yea ok I no wat ur saying , cheers for that , I think they put the 4490's on which are more suitable for an auto , once warmed up it sounds good !! Can u recommend more mods I should do next ? I'm thinking the 75 mm throttle body or is it a waste for non turbo ?? Maybe an underdrive n cams :)... Ba xr6 , 2004 mk 2 , 130000 ks , 4 speed

4490's are more suited to road, they have more lower end torque then the 4495's which are suited to racing, so you made the right choice, ive got 4490's on mine and don't really notice a response lag (at least one not caused by the drive by wire). as for other mods, not really sure, haven't gone that far on my car

98 is fine mate, also dont waste your time with the 75mm TB, for the price of them (unless you find a really cheap one) they arent worth the money.

quite alot mate, i am assuming you are talking about a custom flash tune and not a generic one. Try and do all your mods first and then get the tune last so you don't have to keep coming back and shelling out for a new one each time you mod your car.

Quoted for inaccurate know it all. Backpressure is bad, it does not create more torque. Exhaust gas velocity is what helps. Stock manifolds are done on the cheap.

yeah mate, i put one on my car (there is a write up of it in build thread with pics) I think it made a decent difference and for the price you can't go wrong with it. Hit up Justin at Tuff Car Parts - he sells complete kits and very cheaply

Your explanation is a f**k joke right? Please never post regarding the physics of an exhaust system again.

I noticed in an earlier post he talked about which extractors he had...you have to wonder why he bothered if he thinks extractors are no good??
