As I'm driving home today i could smell coolant. When I got home I took a look under the car I could see water pissing out. Every time I top up the water it pisses out again. So I jacked it up (spare wheel jack) and got under. I previously replaced the heater tap and from what I can see (at this time of the night) is the what it pissing out from above the heater tap & under the intake manifold from mid to rear. Could this be the heater hose?

Firstly you're a game man getting under a car that is being held up by a jack... I never trust my life to a hydraulic hose or a screw thread...

Secondly there is a steel heater pipe that runs around behind the motor back to the fuel pump... This is the return to the pump for the heater circuit/ bypass circuit... Where the bypass hose fits onto this steel pipe it has a manufactured 3/8" barb off to the side of it for this hose... They're brittle, esp with age and corrosion... I bet it is either snapped off or half snapped off... Good job changing that pipe too if that's the case...

That or you've split a hose if you're sure it's not the tap...

Cheers,
Tim
