replacing gasket on water pump ea pump has metal plate behind it am I supposed to double gasket it or just the one on block side?
maybe gasket cement on other side?
you cant actually remove plate to get gasket behind it knowdimean

the gasket shouldn't need changing unless the pump is routed.

however doing engine swap etc, if the inner gasket has not broken smear some gasket goo on and pray, if you can other wise just bolt it up as is and again pray, replace the outer one obiously.
