Think my water pump is on its way out. There is a rattle from it like the bearing or something are f**k. And now the belt on the pulley is slightly off centre like its sagged abit. So if it is how much are water pumps worth??
Cheers

Go Genuine, tell them repco sell them for $85ish, and they'll match.
well in my case they matched that 2 times.

mine was 120 from ford
didn't try to price match on them (will next time) it comes without pulley the pulley an extra 40 or so get them to press it on the pump for you while you're there it's a pain to do it at home

sounds more like a lower idler pulley and the tensioner to me, bearing noise and belt not sitting right.
pump cost: burson unit with pulley already on $100 ford $110 pulley $30 recomend you going genuine as they are far better finish.

remove the tensioner and look for a groove the belt would have made into the insdie of the tensioner.
and when the car is running spray some wd40 on the pulley bearing if its gone it will quiten down straight away.

Bit of an update. Today i lifted up the pulley with a screwdriver and it moved about 3 cm's. Also water was coming out (which is obvious cause its a water pump lol). Just wondering if ppl know its just the pulley or the whole pump that needs to be replaced?

replace the whole pump with a new pulley on it aswell it is not worth the effort replacing the pump nad using the old pulley as they are a press style fit and a bugger to remove
either buy a pump with pulley attached or buy a new pulley to go onto your pump Kev

Im a tight a** so might just replace the pulley cause the pump otherwise works fine...

if you had water come out than your pump is rooted, or the bolts have come loose.
either way new pump is what i would be doing.

Instead of starting a new thread...I thought i'd put my question up in this one. Anyways, if a water pump is still working, is it possible to reuse it? I have been told that water pumps, once removed can't be put back on/reused because of the paper gasket that is sandwiched between the pump and the metal plate/gasket which may be destroyed in the process of removal. The pump was in good working order but because i was curious i took it off not realising it may not be replaceable.
I am in the process of removing the remainder of the paper gasket sandwiched between the metal plate and the pump. Is it still possible to reuse the pump once i have cleaned the rest of the gasket off and use maybe a gasket maker? cheers phong =P~
