Hi guys, when installing a water pump,do I need to use sealant between the block and plate only,it wouldnt need any between the pump and plate would it,also the water pump I took off did not have the paper gasket between block and pump just the sealant, should I do it like that or should I use the PGasket with sealant on both sides?

use the gasket if you have one, sealant is not usually necessary but you can use a light amount of silicon aswell if you wish, just dont use to much...

loctite number 2 or permatex number 2 is all that should ever be needed on paper type gaskets.
silicone sealer just make a mess.
