Hey guys as some of you may know i recently replaced my water pump, i was having a quick once over it today and found that its leaking coolant yet again...
There is a hose at the back of the waterpump that seems to goto the back of the head/block and the leak is from there. I replaced the o ring seal when doing the pump, so im stumped as to what it could be.???

Did you oil the o-ring before you slid the pump onto the heater pipe?

Thanks for the info Yep, off it comes. Its possible is scored, or cracked/broken or twisted. Or I have seen them push back over the flared part. When you oil it up, the whole pump should slide on with little effort. If you don't, it can be really hard to push on, and at the sam time ruin the o-ring. Or you could just take the power steering pump off. There is a 13mm bolt holding the pipe to the block. Undo that bolt, and the pipe will slide backwards (with a little effort), but with enough to expose the o-ring. Swap it over, lube it up and back in it goes. Good luck. |

You may also have to undo the bracket at the rear of the head, use some wet soap to lubricate it as it will not perish the O ring like oil may, Clean the steel hose with some emery paper also to make sure its smooth and clean.

if the front part of the pipe has rusted away you will need to get the extension available from ford for a couple of bucks.
even with new o ring i like to put a little gasket goo over it.
