lol eboost.

theres not alot you can do apart from removing underfelt, sound deadening and un-necessary trims like inside the boot etc.
seriously if you still want a daily driver with lightweight advantages the best place to start would be the rims.i've seen some pretty light rims out there and most i've seen on daily drivers crack from the poor state of our countries roads.

Not really worth taking out sound deadening mate as you will not really gain much. A friend of mine once had a hq manaro. He pulled the door trims off and molested his doors with a hole saw

Some performance upgrades will liven the car up mate.

maybe buy a fibreglass bonnet, i forget which company makes them, there was a group buy here awhile ago

Remove back seats/rear door trims and tell your mates to get their own car

Lightweight wheels as mentioned. Also replace spare wheel with a spacesaver from late model falcons

Remove aircon system, keep stereo gear to a minimum (headunit, 2 front speakers)

i reckon all these would add up and save a noticable bit of weight

cut the ribbing out of the bonnet and boot lid. gut the boot and get a space saver spare wheel.
no rear speakers amps or CD changer
hole saw the un-needed parts of door behind the trims. perspex side windows (rear 1/4 window and rear door windows)
remove any optional parts you dont use, A/C, power windows, heater, ect.
light weight wheels
light weight race seats for the front with light weight alloy mounts
remove any wiring the factory put in for optional and up spec models that isn't being used.

Remove all carpets, roof lining, trims and scrap all the tar like stuff they spray under and in the car for sound deadener.
replace the bonnet, boot and front quarter panels with fibreglass one's.
replace the wheels with lightweight ones.
replace or machined your drive shaft from a ultra-light aluminium ballet.
remove all the seats and use a wooden crate as a seat.

or for less hassle, force feed it...

Sell the EL and buy an EA1 as they were a couple of hundred kilos lighter.

how about you try this for reducing the heavy.
Replace all non-critical nuts, bolts and washers with alloy versions from these guys.
