Ok the car is a AU SR and I changed the bettery in it as it had given up. Now when the cars revs return to idle its revs drop below idle then return and then drop until for about 10 secs also does it going from park to drive. I thought mabey the computer had to re-learn after the battery was out but the problem is still there.
Wheres the first place to look cheers. |

not that I can tell you how to do it on an AU, but base idle is set right?
ISC is clean and not full of crap? Throttle body is clean and not full of crap? Those would be the three i'd be starting with... Not linked to the battery change, but maybe coincidence... Normally a battery change shouldn't effect idle, it only did on EA CFI models... If not them I'd be getting codes pulled from it to see what's flagging (something must be if it can't find an idle speed)... Cheers, Tim

Cheers, Tim The thing is though it does idle correctly for a few seconds the just drops for a second. Almost like something is dragging the revs down. Cheers |

Its not the AC compressor cycling? Other than that at idle nothing will drag the revs... oh well the power steering pump will but I doubt its that (only triggers when you turn it)...

Mate mine does this everytime i disconnect the battery and reset the ecu ( i got a BF) mine will drop so badly that it will actually stall on me, i have to give it throttle as the revs come down to idle to stop it (like ease it down). Only happens for a little while until the computer learns what is going on. Everytime you reset the ecu you should take the car for at least a 15 - 20 minute drive at different speeds etc for a constant time. i was making the mistake when i was mucking around with my hid lights of resetting ecu fire up car to check lights turn off and repeat a few times, no wonder mine was running like a dog for a week or 2 until it sorted its sh!t. As soon as i did a reset and then took it for a decent drive all was fine! - how long has it been since the reset? perhaps reset again and take it for decent drive straight off the bat? Cheers Phil
