gday everyone i went to the drags last night but i was a bit dissapointed.$my first run was a disaster which resulted in mass wheel spin off the line and a 16.7 at 87.7 mph.60ft 2.992.
2nd run 16.12 at 87.71 mph.60 ft 2.56
3rd run 16.11 at 87.71 mph.60 ft 2.559
4th run 16.15 at 86.87 mph.60 ft 2.445
5th run (won this one against a VS commo) 16.01 at 87.20 60ft 2.545

i was hoping for a 15, but as you can see my 60 ft times are slow.i think this is because i was using 14" 185s?
i have a 97 EL auto stock 3.08ss,shift kit.pacemaker 4480 extractors and a esa 2.5"exhasut.tickford intake snorkel and a pod filter in the stock box.
all in all it was a fun night did some good second gear burnouts and made heaps of smoke, and i wasnt the slowest there so wasnt too bad i spose.
just wanna hear what people with similiar mods have done to compare.
thanks.

good 2 c that your givn it a go. Now u've got a bench mark to work against for future mods.

low 16 sounds like its right on the money 4 that car, with a 5 spd and XR 3.45 LSD u could probably do a mid 15.

Don't be disappointed they are actually good honest numbers. We all started somewhere in the 16's with an auto falcon six so don't get put off.

My wagon was doing 17's and a best of 16.8 stock. Extractors and exhaust wouldn't get me into 15's either.

The 3.08 diff and 2.39 first gear mean the 60" is hard.

The best setup for a stretable auto I have seen is a 3.73 LSD and 2500rpm stall converter. You can always go for more engine mods but for the first 60' you need to do something about the gearing. Even with 144rwkw and a 3.45 diff I can't get below 2.3 for the 60'.

OT, but how much did your 3.7's set you back? I want some to compliment my RPD cam too

spools good for straight line action

s**t totally for the street. In the wet, they are f**k

seeing as though your not a 500hp warrior a fresh and well built LSD is more than adequate maybe a locker centre even.

I cant remember which is the s**t housing, its either the 3.08 or 3.23. Someone will know and post soon

I run 215's 14 inches on the back.. but still have 235's 17 inches on the front.. backwards I know, but I dont have front runners, and I want the low profiles cheap tyres on the back.

Good going man, street meet's are the best fun. With the RPD stage 2 cam and 3.7 gears low 15s even high 14s might be possible. Your mods are very similar to mine except Iv'e got the cheaper Wildcat 21x extractors. Mines a wagon so a bit heavier, with 3.23 diff gears I managed 15.976 @ 140 Kmh, 60" 2.554. A couple of runs down the 1/4 is the best way to see if the mod's youv'e made actually have made a difference.

my ute was standard with the 3.23 and i have gone to 3.73 without changing the housing so i'd say it it the 3.08 that is the dodgy one

i ran a consistant 15.4 quarter at WSID a short while back in XH.

5 speed, XR ECU, no extractors, 2.5inch cat back, raced on my 18's with a 3.23 mini spool, wade 1636 cam. not bad i reckon.
had wheel spin and bad axle tramp first gear, and chirped 2nd, then the clutch slipped 3rd. so yeah not too shabby. when i get my licence back, it will have an RPD stage 2, 3.45 minispool or LSD, and a new clutch. so hopefully will be pulling a 14 second quarter
