Just found this bolt left over from my head change over and I sure didn't remove it (looks at rapier ). So, where's she go? I think it's somewere near or around the power steering but I can't find any holes that are its size.

You dont reuse ford headbolts though? When ford tighten them, they go into plastic deformation, and so remain stretched. ARP bolts etc use higher grade steel which remains in the elastic deformation when tightened to specs, and so can be reused!so i;d be hoping its not a head bolt!

isnt it the bolt near the top of the head that holds one of the chain guides?

Head bolts stretch - this is true. I meant that one of the head bolt holes is empty.

If they are head bolts you should have replaced them with new ones and you would have another 13 of them, exactly like this one, lying around the workshop somewhere.

it isn't a head bolt or a rocker gear bolt. i aint that stupid and considering i checked the tension of those 3 times over i'd have noticed if one was missing.
its size is similar to that of the rocker gear bolts, probably not as long, and as i said i'm sureit has something to do with the power steering as it was in the bag which had all the bolts and brackets for that (and that is one of the things that I didn't remove myself). |
