When i drive through water the car starts missing and f@rt and looses drivability. I am guessing its coil packs in my AU l6, but thought i would try see if it is a common trait for the car or something before i get my hands dirty.
Anything come to mind?

G'day ashbrisau, yeah mine does it too. i got fed up with it  so i got some plumbers tape and taped up the loom connecter into the coil and it seems to work so far. at first i was going to make a deflector then i thought i'd try it this way to see if the connecter was getting wet then think about making a deflecter. ive got to admit i havent driven thru any massive puddles but my au does miss sometimes when it rains. anyway if any water gets in there it will make it carry on till the water dries out. also i read a post about au coilpacks cracking near the bolt hole lugs , maybe when it rains water could enter into the coilpack via the crack? its a possibility. have a look at the connecter pins on both sides of the loom connecter and see if theres any green oxidisation on em and that should give you a clue- when i sussed mine there was some crap on the pins in the coil side of the connecter and on the loom side of the connecter. i cleaned them up then sprayed them with wd40 or something like that and its ok for the moment. also check the connecter into the tps- i gave mine a wiggle and it did muck about similar to the miss you get from when it rains. make sure the grey outer loom insulation going into the plug is in good nick and goes all the to the plug and maybe tape it up too. good luck and let us know how you go.

cheers maka
