Also if you dont mind paying an extra $10 for an oil filter get a K&N oil filter too. They usually cost about $20-$30.. I paid $24 when i got one for the XF.

just a quick question about k+n oil filter.
i suspect i have low oil pressure, but i don't want to spend megabucks replacing oil pumps etc.. - engine is old, i'll just get a new one when i can afford. will the k+n brand one provide any less restriction and therefore raise the pressure?? would that be worth a try?

tranny oil... dex 3 i think... same for powersteering

Jeeeeeeesus Frank... trying to kill this poor bloke??

You must use the trans fluid designed for the BTR box. Most brands have a suitable formula.. i think i'm using BP at the moment.

Funnily enough i run the same stuff through my power steering! But Dexron 3 should be fine for PS..

$10 ryco Z9 filter will do fine.

Oil, sparkplugs and leads - that's just begging for a "debate".. have a search around and see what has already been said...

For the engine oil, AMSOIL,
Transmission oil AMSOIL,
Power steering fluid AMSOIL
Filters, AMSOIL (or Perf-from)
Air filter, AMSOIL or K&N
Plugs Bosch or NGK

Some basic information on Amsoil comparitive tests: http://www.amsoil.com/lit/g1053.pdf

Using AMSOIL Synthetics, you only need to change your oil every 40,000km or 12 months, (which ever comes first) and the oil filter every 6 months or 20,000km.

See the link in my signature for a distributor.

NGK Iridium IX plugs
QLD Spiral core leads
Ryco filters are some of the best of the market ... no use spending more for something that does the same job or worse.
