To be quite honest with you...to get some good power you need a big cam.Big cams mean rougher idle. You need a tune and big cam...easy.I need a big cam too. :D

want a real cam?

forget dev5 RPD3, 1521a.

Surecam 883 or bigger, or if you want to get serious Crow 2539. 247@50 610"lift 106LSA

I would think with the mods maybe going for a Crow 1560 224/220@50 0.560" lift or if game a 2546 233@50 0.528" and something with a more streetable LSA of 115 and 110 respectively.

You're right. I was joking with the 2539 (thats a solid cam grind anyway)

The 1546 is what lots of dirt circut speedway cars use. The issue with that cam is that it needs flycutting of the pistons to run safe at revs.

Streetable with custom tuned chip dont push past 227@50 110LSA...

You and your LSAs Walkinshaw...

The Stage3 is BIG, it grumbles, it goes, it works, and I have one... so I can definately recommend one.

Cheers

Do we have track times and rwkw's for the cam yet or are we still going by seat of the pants?

do we have track times and dyno read outs for all of the above cams? or any? there is a little more influencing track and dyno numbers than the cam alone...

considering the cams only been available for not very long ( a couple of months), and most people are scared of putting on in their car, Id say its fair to say that it hasn't been run on the dyno yet, each for their own reason.

My car - not registered atm, still sorting my tune out.

stockstandard - if you like wade so much marry them, but I stand by RPD.

Cheers

I would think the first thing that anyone with a cam should do is put it on a dyno, not for bragging rights but to see what the AFR is doing. I know if I was trying to sell them it would be the 1st thing I would do as well. With pretty much all other cams you can find this stuff out (if only because they have been around for long enough for people to do it).

And I havent said anything about wade cams. Im interested in the individual cam profiles not the companies that grind them. I just find it somewhat amusing the number of people who recommend the cam but as yet I havent seen any track times or dyno graphs which are pretty much the only way we have to quantitatively compare them. Im not saying it’s a bad cam or your misrepresenting it, just that I wouldn’t buy a cam based on someone’s description of how it drives because everyone has different ideas about what ‘fast’ means.

On the other hand, if you know the cam pulls a 14.X down the quarter and can compare the shape of the dyno against other grinds you can get a good idea about how it suits your needs. Again, not bagging the cam – but common guys get down to the track and lets see what it can do.

not 100 % sure but didnt hornet post up his dyno specs and it was producing some ridiculous amount of torque...
