hey all,
i did a search on clutches and it seems there r alot of different types around. just after peoples different experiences with different clutches and what people think would be the best bet. i went to the drags last night and ran a 15.3 but the clutch was slipping in every gear till like 4.5k with my clutch foot on the floor. im not really to worried about the drivability as not its pretty heavy and s**t lol(need new clutch cable). post up what ya got and what ya rek. cheers.

In my cortina, I have a HD replacement clutch and its s**t! Slips like mad when I start snapping cogs. I may end up fitting a sintired brass/ceramic type clutch to handle future power upgrades.

The machine of a thin layer of the flywheel so your new clutch plate fits nice and not sitting in the old clutch grove it warn (new clutch pressure plate might be larger by extra few millimeters and that could wear out the out side of the pressure plate and have slipping problems and stuff like that)

Best clutch for street IMO are the extreme HD with an organic plate (very light pedal, awesome clamping force). If your a bit more track oriented, same pressure plate with a ceramic cushion clutch.

I'm planning on getting a yella terra flywheel and exedy clutch when I get my t5 conversion early next year. I'm also new to all this so I'd be interested to see what people think.

Either it wasn't installed right or you abused it. Nothing wrong with organic clutches at all.
