Currently:

Rating 1 with AAMI $1000
Agreed value $23000

I might be switching to Just Car next time around. The car is severely moded. If I have a crash whilst I am insured with AAMI, the assessor is likely not to honour the insurance policy (so i've been told).

Just Car, with all my mods will be $1600. Here is an example of my online quote with Just Car. I thought it would be more expensive. $600 extra for piece of mind.

Policy Type COMPREHENSIVE
Vehicle Use PRIVATE
Quote Valid to 21/06/2005
Vehicle Purchase Price $50,000
Amount Covered $22,000
Vehicle Purchase Date OCT 2000
Existing Vehicle Damage NO
Privately Imported Vehicle NO
Vehicle under Finance NO
Postcode of Insured Address 2228

Your Car
2000 FORD FALCON XR6 VCT AUII F/INJ 4D SEDAN 6 CYL MAN
Amount Covered $22,000
The amount covered includes all non-standard accessories and modifications noted on this policy.

Non-standard Modifications
AIR FILTER CHANGES, BODY KIT, COMPUTER/POWER CHIP, CAM SHAFT ALTERATIONS, ALTERATIONS TO ENGINE HEAD, EXHAUST MODIFICATIONS, EXTRACTORS, FORGED PISTONS, LOWERED, SHAVED HEADS, SUSPENSION MODIFIED

Excesses
STANDARD $600
Plus Driver Excesses
DRIVERS UNDER 22 $400
DRIVERS 22 AND UNDER 25 $300

This quote runs out on the 26th of this month. But I will keep on checking thier prices prior to switching.

Well, they wont always see the "value" of vehicle modifications like we will; try letting them know their value/cost maybe?

I'm with AAMI and pay $876 for the FBT market value is 23,500 so I didn't worry about agreeing the value any higher.

I am 27 and haven't had an at fault accident or traffic infringement for over 5 years.
