ok i'm thinking of pulling my head off for a bit of
porting and polishing and just wanting to know what head gasket i should use when i put it all back together ????????????? any1 using jmm (Multi-Layer Steel-Head Gasket) are thay any good any help would be gr8

yeh I am,
Use a AU shim head gasket, In fact If you go to ford and ask for a E series gasket... you'll get a AU one

genuine Ford AU one. Not an aftermarket ones, as aftermarket companies such as ACL don't make metal ones for the AU and that.

Yep it will fit - The JMM one is an AU gasket
AU ones as thinner (good for a bit of extra compression) and stronger.

Au one is metal compared the the normal ones or previously used ones which are normal gasket material (a fibre paper type stuff). the metal ones last longer and seem to have been the solution to the headgasket failure problem that was common on early 4.0L SOHC I6's.

I have a set of au stocks if u want them tyres arnt badWTF??? and Yes, I'm lead to believe the AU gasket fits fine on the 3.9 but you'll need to use AU bolts and torque sequence

yes you can use Au gaskets on 3.9's
And yes, always use the torque sequence for the type of gasket your using (not the engine).
